Aquasonics is a durational audio performance based around samples of water related sounds. It was developed for the 2016 CURRENT:LA Public Art Biennial and was performed at multiple locations during the event. The theme of the biennial was water and the relationship the city of Los Angeles has to this precious commodity. For Aquasonics samples of many different water sources were taken and fashioned into tape loops. These tape loops formed the basis for an 8 hour performance in which the sound was manipulated and enhanced live with analog electronics. The duration of the piece reflects the endless stream of water that is constantly directed to the city and the manipulation of the sound hints at the problems the city faces with the ever increasing demand.
